Program overview
The 2024 CAMC Pediatric Conference will feature lectures, case presentations and educational sessions on a variety of acute and critical care issues facing health care professionals today. This one-day conference will focus on current trends in Acute and Critical Care Pediatric medicine. The program is designed for pediatricians, primary care physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, social workers and all allied health professionals involved in the care of children. The program is limited to 120 participants.
No prerequisites are required.
At the conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:
- Examine new strategies for responding to pediatric respiratory emergencies.
- Identify and explain current treatments for behavior management in children.
- Recognize and describe ventilator modes and ventilator-patient interaction.
- Describe current best practices for dealing with difficult families.
- Discuss innovative and evolving treatments in medication administration, ventilator management and pediatric nutrition.
- Discuss the West Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children program and available resources.

Completion of this RD/DTR profession-specific or IPCE activity awards CPEUs (One IPCE credit = one CPEU).
If the activity is dietetics-related but not targeted to RDs or DTRs, CPEUs may be claimed, which are commensurate with participation in contact hours (one 60-minute hour = one CPEU).

Our Faculty
The CAMC Institute for Academic Medicine controls the content and production of this CE activity and attempts to ensure the presentation of balanced, objective information. In accordance with the Standards for Integrity and Independence in Accredited Continuing Education established by the ACCME, faculty, abstract reviewers, paper presenters/authors, planning committee members, staff and any others involved in planning the educational content must disclose any relationship they or their co-authors have with ineligible companies which may be related to their content. The ACCME defines “relevant financial relationships” as financial relationships in any amount occurring within the past 24 months that create a conflict of interest. All presenters, planning committee and faculty have declared no financial interest with an ineligible company for this conference.
Limited parking is available at the CAMC Center for Learning and Research. Participants may also park at the Aladdin Restaurant parking lot, the former CHERI building lot and the CAMC Cancer Center parking lot. A shuttle will be available from the CAMC Cancer Center lot. There is no charge for parking.
Every effort is made to have a comfortable temperature in the meeting room. However, we realize everyone's comfort zone is different, so please bring a sweater or light jacket.
