Program overview
The 2024 CAMC Vandalia Health Emergency Medicine Conference will feature lectures, case presentations and educational sessions on a variety of acute and critical care issues facing emergency health care professionals today. This one-day conference will focus on current trends in emergency and prehospital medicine. The program is designed for physicians and advanced practice professionals, including physician assistants, nurse practitioners and EMS professionals.
The course is limited to 120 participants. No prerequisites are required.
At the conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:
- Examine new strategies for the treatment of respiratory patients with the use of noninvasive ventilation.
- Identify and explain current treatments for Bronchiolitis management in children.
- Recognize and describe current treatment for fractures in the emergency department.
- Review best practices in interfacility transports and patient expedition.
- Review ACS treatment and STEMI equivalent EKG’s.
- Examine treatment for stroke care, large vessel occlusion and thrombolytics.
- Discuss current treatment strategies in wilderness medicine.
- Breakout concurrent sessions will provide participants with an active learning experience in ultrasound-guided IV access, splinting and reductions and stroke simulation and telemedicine integration.

Limited parking is available at the CAMC Center for Learning and Research. Participants may also park at the Aladdin Restaurant parking lot, the former CHERI building lot and the CAMC Cancer Center parking lot. A shuttle will be available from the CAMC Cancer Center lot. There is no charge for parking.
Every effort is made to have a comfortable temperature in the meeting room. However, we realize everyone’s comfort zone is different, so please bring a sweater or light jacket.
