The Charleston Area Medical Center (CAMC) Interventional Cardiology Fellowship provides a unique, contemporary training experience in a high volume clinical environment supported by talented and highly specialized faculty.

Comprehensive Clinical Training

The CAMC Interventional Cardiology Fellowship is housed in a 960 bed quaternary care hospital center that is nestled between the mountains alongside a river in the state capital of West Virginia. On any given day, you will find as many as 800 learners doing research or caring for patients within the CAMC health care system, including a regional medical school campus with 179 medical students from West Virginia University and West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine.

Fellows accepted to the program can expect a curriculum that includes extensive training in the operating rooms, performing cardiac catheterization angioplasties and other interventional procedures, as well as advanced clinical experience, participation in clinical trials and studying the latest research from around the world. CAMC’s status as a teaching hospital allows the institution to remain at the forefront of quality care and innovative research. Research includes clinical trials looking at new treatments, as well as studies using hospital data to learn how to improve patient care.

We have recruited faculty with advanced cardiac imaging training in cardiovascular computed tomography, cardiac magnetic resonance imaging, structural heart disease, and 3-D echocardiography.
