I love working at CAMC because it offers an exceptional learning environment. Our patient population is highly complex, and the pathology you encounter is unmatched. The faculty here are not only knowledgeable but also eager to mentor and guide me through these complexities. CAMC offers some of the most competitive subspecialties. CAMC is also supportive of the LGBTQ+ community, which is great for my partner and me.

Diversity

The CAMC Internal Medicine program is committed to and accountable for advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in all its forms. We embrace individual uniqueness and foster a culture of inclusion and engage all individuals to help them thrive. We value inclusion as a core strength and an essential element of our public service mission.

At CAMC Internal Medicine residency program:

  • We foster a safe environment of inclusion for faculty, staff, and learners.
  • We will advance and build our workforce by recruiting, retaining, and developing talented faculty and staff from diverse backgrounds.
  • We will address intergroup disparities in areas such as representation, retention, learning outcomes, and graduation rates.

Wellness

Residency represents one of the most physically and emotionally taxing times of a young physician’s career and our program is dedicated to helping address the stress that comes with residency training before it becomes overwhelming. The CAMC community acknowledges signs of resident fatigue and burnout and makes an active effort to support trainees in their times of need. A Resident Wellness Committee has been formed within the medicine department and the residents on the committee meet throughout the academic year to plan events that will reduce stress levels and create a warm community for Internal Medicine residents and faculty.
