Trauma-Informed Care
Trauma-Informed Care Initiative:
Tiffany Lasky, DO, FACS, created a Trauma Informed Care (TIC) initiative designed to "create a culture of trauma-informed care at our institution."
Dr. Lasky developed (1) a TIC clinical training program in the Trauma Surgery department involving a multidisciplinary team of physicians and nursing staff, including a train-the-trainer program open to all clinicians; (2) an educational TIC module presented as Grand Rounds in multiple core departments including: Trauma Surgery, Surgery, Behavioral Medicine, Family Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics and MS3 Class of WVU School of Medicine - Charleston; and (3) an ongoing IRB-approved research study, Dr. Lasky as PI with multiple WIM Cols; currently in data collection phase.
